It was a one day Field trip to USC in Columbia Pre-College Education at the College of Engineering and Computing at USC. The student’s were fully engaged in a hands-on project based learning the entire day building and designing prototypes and wood gliders based on distance or speed, holding an arial competition and then presenting drawings and results in 3 student teams. This trip was a direct connection to PLTW Design Process and Exploring Computer Science study of algorithms and techniques for precise automated analysis by completing real world analysis techniques such as working together in teams to construct a glider. This symbolic execution provided students opportunities for hands on learning and building of STEM analysis techniques as well as building career readiness skills for college readiness.
