Earth Science Students Visit Birds of Prey

The field trip experience was with 81 Earth Science students. They completed a problem based learning unit at the beginning of the semester and this trip was the final piece of that project. They were able to view a flight demonstration and Omari Jenkins was the stand-in 'rabbit' to demonstrate how Harris Hawks catch their prey. Students were also able to view a kite in flight and were able to also see a falcon in flight. Students rotated through stations to learn about bald eagles, bird adaptations, vulture feeding and owl flight.
