Summer Credit Recovery 2017

James Island Charter High School is offering summer “Credit Recovery” program for JICHS students who were enrolled during the 2016-2017 school year and have failed a course and would like to recover the lost credit.

DATES, TIMES, AND LOCATION

  • Summer Credit Recovery is scheduled from June 19th through July 26th, Monday-Thursday (subject to change based on student needs).  Summer Credit Recovery will not be held on July 4th.
  • Students can register for up to two (2) credits, but must select one session to attend:
    • Session 1: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
    • Session 2: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
  • Credit Recovery will be held at James Island Charter High School in the Technology Hall.

**REGISTRATION
          **DEADLINE TO REGISTER:     ***JUNE 15TH ***

 

  1. Registration
    • June 5th  – June 15th
    • 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
    • Guidance Office

 

  1. Students will be permitted to register for up to two (2) credits, provided that:
    • The student has previously failed the course, or
    • The student has received an FA/51 due to attendance issues.

 

  1. The Principal will make the final decision regarding the approval or denial of a request to register for the Summer Credit Recovery program.

 

TRANSPORTATION

  • Transportation is the responsibility of the parent.

 

FEES                                                              

  • One credit course:       $200.00       FULL PAYMENT DUE AT TIME OF REGISTRATION!
  • ½ credit course:           $100.00                      

 IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 

  1. Students must have taken the End-Of-Course Examination if the course requires it. The student is not required to pass the EOCE in order to be eligible for Summer Credit Recovery.

     

  2. Students must successfully complete all Credit Recovery instruction with an overall average of60 in order to earn credit.Consequently, the failing grade will be removed from the student’s transcript and replaced with a grade of 60.

     

  3. If a student does not successfully complete all work with an overall average of 60 in the allotted time, he or she will not receive credit for the course.NO MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED IN THE CASE OF CREDIT NOT BEING EARNED.

     

  4. Students who incur any disciplinary infractions while enrolled during the summer Credit Recovery program may be dismissed immediately.NO MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED IN THE CASE OF DISCIPLINARY DISMISSALS.
