What information is used to create a student ID?
A student's network & Google log in ID is made up of the following:
(1) The first three characters of the student's last name, followed by (2) the first three characters of their first name, followed by (3) the last four digits of the student Power School ID.
For example, if a student's name was John Smith and his Power School ID was 24684857, his network ID would be smijoh4857. His Google email address would be email@example.com.
What changes will be happening concerning student passwords?
Prior to school starting, all K-12 student passwords will be set to "school" (without the quotation marks)
The first time a student logs into the network they will be "required" to change their password.
Passwords must be at least 6 characters in length.
Student passwords will not expire during the 2014-2015 school year.
A student's "network" password will be the same for their Google account.
How do I log into Gmail?
In order to log into your student Gmail account, you must first log into the Novell network on a school computer.
To access your student email, go to Gmail and type your full email address (ex. firstname.lastname@example.org) and the network password you chose when you logged onto the school computer.
If you are experiencing any difficulty logging into the school network or into your Gmail account, please stop by the Media Center.
