FAQs

  • Who/What: Dual Enrollment classes are being offered through a partnership with Trident Technical College (TTC). This opportunity is only offered to qualifying juniors and seniors.
  • When: During the school year four (4) days per week for seven (7) weeks during first or last periods of the day. Students will have a late in/early out when the class is not in session.
  • Where: On James Island Charter High School campus and/or online.
  • Why: You expressed interest in Dual Enrollment classes through communication with the school. Dual Enrollment allows students to earn high school and college credit simultaneously. The cost of earning college credit as a high school student is generally lower than as a college freshman.
  • How: Take a college entrance exam or a placement test such as The ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer and earn a qualifying score. Complete and a Trident Technical College Dual Enrollment application and return it to the student's guidance counselor.
  • Cost: As of the 2017-2018 school year, tuition for one class cost $525 and two classes combined cost $408 with lottery assistance money. Tuition is not due until the end of the semester. Families are responsible for the cost of books. Books must be purchased by the first day of class.
