Welcome, to IBA and Entrepreneurship! Hello, my name is Miss Hollman and it is with great pleasure that I welcome you and your child to my classroom. I’m looking forward to getting to know your sons and daughters and guiding them in their learning. School is a very special place where you learn may things to help you reach your goals and live a successful life. My favorite thing about school is that students always work hard, try their best and aren’t afraid to experience new things!
Expectations are high for the students this year, and their responsibilities will increase. Students must be organized; complete a more difficult and extensive curriculum and workload; use time management skills to get assignments done. We can look forward to a very exciting, rewarding, and enjoyable school year. Before we get started, I would like you to know a few things about me.
I was born and raised in Sumter, SC with loving parents and one sibling. I attended Sumter High School and went to college at Morris College (very small private college) where I studied Business Administration. School is one of my favorite places to be, so I decided to get a teaching credential after graduating college and become a teacher. Last year, I worked at North District Middle School where I taught 8th grade Career Education. This is 2nd year of teaching and I love my job just as much as the first day I started!
I will make every effort to help your child to be comfortable communicating with me and will facilitate regular check-ins. However, I appreciate how difficult that initial communication can be, so I request your help with this. Please encourage your child to keep me updated and always feel free to reach out yourself. If your child is struggling, bored, or feeling anything else except perfectly content please let me know.
My goal for this year is to create a successful learning team among your child, the school, and your family. I believe that if the parents and teachers work together, we can have a more successful student.
Please also bring a kind hear, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and discover new things. I look forward to sharing the year with you and your child. Together we’ll explore our world and make many exciting interesting and funny (I love to laugh) connections.
I believe in the importance of a strong home-school connection and welcome your support throughout the year. Please feel free to get in touch with me anytime. Should you have a question, concern or issue, I’m always here to help.
